Snus

SNUS 

Snus (pronounced ‘snoos’) is sold loose or in pouches. It is made from tobacco that has been manufactured into a moist ‘mass’ that is stored in a pouch. They are used in exactly the same way as a nicotine pouch.

Given that snus contains tobacco, it follows that it also contains the constituents associated with tobacco use. Studies have shown that Snus can be harsh on your gums and contribute to dental problems.

Nicotine pouches on the other hand do not contain any tobacco at all. Instead of tobacco, nicotine pouches contain a large number of very small granules, typically made from cellulose. These granules absorb the nicotine and any added flavourings. Combined they make up the contents of the nicotine pouch. The granules ‘hold onto’ the nicotine and flavourings until the saliva from your mouth activates them and releases them into your body.
